Relaye
Relaye’s musical upbringing primarily consisted of Reggae and Ragtime, sparking a curiosity in composing, beat making, and freestyling on the school bus. His knack for writing raps influenced a move to Los Angeles, where he pursued a degree in music business at USC. It wasn’t until after graduation that Relaye decided to pursue music professionally, signing his first record with independent imprint Blue Elan Records. Fast forward five years and it’s likely you’ve heard Relaye’s music, whether you know it or not. His work has been featured in hundreds of films and TV shows, with his single “Long Time Coming” being placed in the critically acclaimed video game MLB: The Show 2021. Relaye’s latest LP Green Shoots, with production from Rascal (Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper), Keyon Christ (Ye, Rihanna) and Relaye himself, is a masterclass in stylistic versatility and artistic precision, exploring themes both profane and profound about love, confidence, and not taking life too seriously.
